My first grade teacher proudly displayed this print of Winslow Homer's Snap the Whip at the front of our small Catholic classroom next to the American flag year round.  In doing so, she opened minds, sparked imaginations,  and ignited passions for the love of art, including mine.  As the second youngest of seven children in my family, I watched my siblings thrive in art throughout high school under the hand of a phenomenal art teacher.  Fortunately, she would guide my own hands and soul further into the field of art as I chose to study art and photography in college.

I have a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art with all-level teacher certification as well as a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Art-Photography from Sam Houston State University. I have seven previous years experience in the elementary classroom, but am thrilled to begin my 10th year at Anderson-Shiro Jr/Sr High as the art teacher.  My hope is to continue to open doors into the world of art for students who share an interest in creating, studying, and appreciating art.

I enthusiastically look forward to working with you this year!
